Outlets for baby clothes

Today I went to Ikano Power Centre to have a look in the Brands Outlet to see if they have new stocks for baby clothes. They do. And all look so pretty. However, there were no great promotions. So, I did't buy any. Anyway, I have more than enough baby clothes for Marcus to last him for another month.
I was actually looking for a jacket for Marcus. There were several choices for hoodie jackets but the sizes available for boy's designs are only for newborns and 0-3months. Sigh! Then, I turn around and saw nice dresses for myself. But, I wanted to lose few more kilos before buying new clothes.
FOS at the children floor in One Utama new wing is great for getting baby clothes at a great price. 2 for RM16 or RM20.... great offers. The baby clothes are of good quality too. I bought a lot of clothes for Marcus here. Sadly, there were no attractive jackets for babies. There were a few but limited choices.

Milk powder

Marcus was fed Anmum in hospital after birth. I have never heard of anybody giving Anmum infant milk powder. However, during that month the hospital was using Anmum. The month before it was Frisolac. I wanted to change the formula milk but thought better of it as my baby son is tolerating this milk well. So, I continued giving Anmum to him till recently. I have read about S26 and Nan in my uni classes. I think they are the oldest brands of formula milk around. I saw Nan while shopping in Cold Storage and on impulse decided to buy it. I have just started Nan on Marcus. He seems to like it. In fact, he loves it so much, he wanted more. He finished the milk quite fast and was crying when he finishes it. So, I made an extra 1.5oz. He finished those too.
I actually like the texture of Nan powder as compared to Anmum. Nan powder is very fine and doesn't easily clump together after I scoop it out and store in a smaller container. I am very satisfied with Nan. However, will wait for another 10 days to see if Marcus is tolerating this milk well. I read in an allergy book that once you introduce something new in a diet to a child you should wait for about 2 weeks to see if he is allergic to that food.

Baby clothes not cheap!

Marcus is fast growing out of his clothes. I buy him a 6-12month old baby clothes even though he is only 4 months old. I've got stacks of his old clothes packed in different plastic bags labelled newborn and 1-3months. This will make it easier for me to sort out the baby clothes for the second baby.

I really love the rompers from Mothercare. They are all so colourful and long-lasting. My Mom and I did buy some baby clothes of local brand. One would think that local branded baby clothes would be cheaper but they are not cheap. RM25-30+ for a romper. Worse still I find that they are quite thin and easily torn. Some actually tear at the seams after 3 washings. Could it be that my maid is too strong?? But, the baby clothes that are of overseas brand has no problems such as this.

From now on I am getting those branded baby clothes for my boy. Michael is going to freak out when he sees the credit card bill. Fortunately, one can get these overseas branded baby clothes at a cheaper price from FOS and Reject Shop.

Change in sleeping and feeding pattern

Dear Marcus is now sleeping straight through from 11pm to 7 or 8am next morning without waking up in the middle of the night. I feel so blessed! He started this new habit since he was two and a half months old. But, now he only feeds about 5 times a day. I read in a Gina Ford book (Contented Baby Book), the minimum calories the child has to drink is 21oz a day. But, he's drinking less now. Sometimes, the total feeding could reach this minimum level. However, most days he just drinks up to 18oz a day. He seems pretty happy with it. I am currently giving him breastmilk and formula milk. I noticed that when I give him formula milk for the last feeding at 10.30pm, he sleeps through till 8am sometimes 9am. But, if I give him breastmilk, he'll usually wake up earlier sometimes 6.30am. So, I've decided to give him formula milk for his 10.30pm feeding. If he does not sleep by 11.15pm, I will give him another 2oz of formula milk. With formula milk, I can afford to waste. I don't mind if he can't finish. But, with expressed milk I really made sure that he finishes as much as he could.

Marcus drinking less???

What's going on? My 3 month old baby boy used to drink 4 to 4.5ounces every feeding. Sometimes, when he's really hungry he can even finish up to 5ounces. But now he can only finish maximum 4 ounces! The worries of being a mother! The funny thing is when he was drinking more than 4ounces he only poops 3 times a week. Now he poops every other day, sometimes, twice a day. So, I guess if he can poop means he's getting enough to eat, right?
At first, I suspected it could be due to the change in my diet. I used to drink 4 glasses of milk a day. Now, I drink only maximum 2 glasses. I was so concerned over my weight! I still have not shed my pregnancy weight! I feel like an elephant sometimes. And I eat more fruits. Actually, I have replaced one of my meals with fruits. So silly! But, I just can't wait to wear my old clothes again. Currently, I am still wearing maternity clothes. Is it going to be like this for many more months?
